FIRE safety in the home will come under the microscope in a special event next week.
Residents in the town will be able to learn more about how to make sure their house is as safe as possible in the event of fire by chatting to experts outside St Botolph’s Church.
Representatives from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue will be on hand next Wednesday to offer advice about fire safety, including reducing hazards from electrical devices. They will also speak on sources of ignition and dangers from fumes.
Cooking will be under the spotlight, as two-thirds of domestic fires attended occur this way.
Some houses in the area may be eligible to receive a free smoke alarm. It is also possible to get a free home fire safety check by calling 01205 363231 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, quoting ‘home fire safety check’.
