Parkinson’s sufferer Bernie Brothwell has now raised more than £12,000 in his fundraising quest to help research into the condition after a fifth annual golf day.
Bernie, a member of the Boston & District Branch of Parkinson’s UK, organised the day at Boston West Golf Centre on September 9.
With the support of his sponsors, donors, golfers and Boston West Golf Centre, he raised a further £4,130 bringing the overall total to a massive £12,512 for Parkinson’s Research.
The photograph above shows him presenting the amount raised this year to Tyna Brych, Parkinson’s UK East Midland Region Manager, together with Phil Daubney (2011 Winner), Jackie Hawkesworth (Boston Branch Treasurer), Richard Owens (Course Manager) and Kevin Worth (2013 Winner) at the October Branch Meeting.
Tyna thanked Bernie for his ‘magnificient’ support. The Parkinson’s Boston and District branch meets most months in the luncheon clubroom at Centenary Church, Red Lion Street, Boston.
