It was a fairytale ending for Boston dog Disney when he was crowned ‘most handsome dog’ at a national contest in London.
The Bernese mountain dog, owned by Sharon Watson, emerged victorious over canine competitors from across the UK to win the accolade at the Companion Dog Club competition.
“I was delighted Disney won and couldn’t believe it as there were some nice dogs in the ring,” said Sharon.
“I was overjoyed the judge Philippa Robinson thought Disney was the Most Handsome Dog and gave him this award. This was Disney’s first time at a Discover Dogs showing and he coped very well as he is only 16 months-old. He loved all the attention and had lots of cuddles with loads of different people. He was very well behaved.”
The competition saw hundreds of club members’ dogs of all ages, shapes and sizes step into the ring to compete in a series of purebred and fun categories.
Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club spokesman, said: “The competition gives all kinds of dogs the chance to shine. Disney and Sharon have done really well to beat off some stiff competition and win the hearts of the judges.”
