Brave night-time ‘bra walk’ for charity

A MEMBER of the Batemans Brewery family is to walk through the streets of London at night in her bra – to raise money for charity.

Jaclyn Bateman, marketing director at the Wainfleet-based Batemans, is taking part in the sponsored London MoonWalk 2012, on May 12.

The annual fundraiser sees thousands of women complete a 26.2 mile night-time course in decorated bras – all to raise awareness of breast cancer.

Jaclyn’s aim is to raise £2,000, with donations so far at £730.

She said: “We will be setting off at midnight and I aim to complete the course in six hours.

“It’s all in aid of breast cancer so it’s for a very worthy cause.”

Batemans Brewery is holding a beer festival over the weekend, with real ales from all around the world and live music from Dr Busker and his traditional festival band.

Jaclyn said: “Sadly I won’t be there as I will be training all weekend and can’t have alcohol - I didn’t even have any Easter eggs.”
