MATT Cardle, who was due to appear in Boston next week, has told his Facebook fans that he will not be performing in the town.
He posted a message on his Facebook fan page stating: “Unfortunately the Boston show on May 26th will no longer be going ahead.”
Doubts were first cast over the concert last week after Boston Borough Council refused a licence for the gig to go ahead at Boston Town FC’s Tattershall Road site - on grounds of ‘public safety’.
A search began to find a suitable new venue, which organisers hoped they had done.
But over the weekend a message has appeared on Cardle’s Facebook page to state that due to the change of venue at such a late date - and issues surrounding this - the gig will not be possible.
The statement on Facebook adds that ‘...we apologise to all fans who had made plans to attend and are now inconvenienced.’ Continuing ‘It would be wrong for this event to go ahead with Matt’s fans not getting the show that they deserve...’
More updates as we get them...
