Brown bin calls clog up council phone lines

CALLS from members of the public about the launch of the new brown bins have clogged up the lines at Boston Borough Council – leaving many residents facing delays when they are trying to ask questions.

The authority says it has ‘reprioritised’ staff and systems to deal with the delays, but it has requested that callers are patient, as their call will be answered as soon as possible.

Much of the information requested can be found on the council’s website, at, including changes to blue and green bin collection days, brown bin collection days, answers to frequently asked questions about the garden waste collection scheme and a reminder of what can be put in which bins.
