Boston estate agent Pygott and Crone has cause to celebrate after recording the highest monthly residential sales for more than five years.
Branch manager Pete Sampson has been with the estate agent for 10 years and is delighted with the figures.
He said last month a total of 24 sales were made which were sold at 97 per cent of the asking price.
“This is a fantastic result and I’m very proud that the team’s hard work can continue to positively influence the local economy in Boston,” he said. “Lincolnshire’s economy is really booming at the moment and these figures show that Boston is contributing to this success at a local level.”
He added: “Across the county, town centre vacancy rates are at a record low and Boston is no exception – businesses in the area are doing incredibly well and we’re pleased to be a part of the town’s affluence.
“Our residential sales cover a 15-mile radius, including Skegness, Spalding and Sleaford as well as all the villages in between so we’re a really mixed practice and this diversity is key to achieving the incredible results that we have.”
The business has had a presence in the town for 14 years; it has recently been named Agent of the Year at the annual East Midlands Property Awards.
Mr Sampson spoke positively about Boston’s prospects.
He said: “Boston’s housing market is particularly strong at the moment with new developments being announced to draw buyers into the area, including the new marina and football stadium.
“I see a lot of out of county buyers looking to relocate to Boston, realising the potentials of living in a thriving market town and the benefits of living in the East Midlands as a location that has excellent prospects, not just for business, but also for an excellent place to enjoy family and social life.”
