Equipment failure cuts power to 1,100 homes


An equipment failure saw 1,100 homes in the Boston area without power for a short period of time in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).

The properties to the South West of Boston including, Sleaford Road, Welland Road, Rosebery Avenue and the Wyberton Fen area lost power at just after midnight for around 10 minutes.

A Western Power Spokesman said that following this, while trying to find the fault, there was another cut for one or two minutes.

The spokesman said there was a failure in a piece of equipment which the company fixed - however, while this was going on 16 properties continued to have no power.

At 2am, 10 of these properties regained power, followed by the other six at 5.30am.
