A LIFE-SAVING charity has been given a £7,283 boost thanks to staff and customers at Oldrids and Downtown.
LIVES First Responders were the chosen charity for the Boston stores – which raised the money through a year of fundraising events.
June Parker, director of HR for Oldrids and Downtown, said: “As LIVES are dedicated to expanding the First Response Groups in Boston and Grantham our Oldrids and Downtown staff decided that they would help make it happen.
She added: “It costs £3,000 a year to keep these essential life saving groups going and we are proud our staff have raised £7,283.82 to aid this expansion.”
This year, staff held events including a cake week where they brought in various homemade cakes to sell and an interstore race challenge using exercise bikes, treadmills and rowing machines, to see who could get to and from the Grantham and Boston in the quickest time.
Oldrids and Downtown, a family-owned Boston business established in 1804, annually chooses a local charity, which the company then supports throughout the year.
