Shoppers have given a warm welcome to a new £1.2 million food store in Old Leake.
Lincolnshire Co-op opened its new outlet off Meadow Way.
The purpose-built food store replaces the firm’s existing branch in Church Road.
Store manager Ben Pickwell said: “We’ve been delighted with the feedback – people had been looking forward to seeing the new store open and they weren’t disappointed! Customers were particularly happy to see our in-store bakery range and the selection of food-to-go we have.”
Four jobs have been created through the development. The existing food store staff have been transferred over to the new site.
The post office which was based in store will also move across to the site, along with its staff.
Helping open the store on Thursday was Boston and Skegness MP Matt Warman, Lincolnshire Co-op president Stuart Park, and Wrangle Primary School pupils.
A £250 donation was also made to Old Leake Community Centre to mark the occasion.
