Customers of Stickney Post Office and general store are getting used to a bright new look following a big redesign of the Main Road premises.
Linda Wooding, who has been at the helm for the last 21 years, said: “It’s gone from the old fortress type, the old-fashioned look, to the new, open-plan one now.
“A lot of people who have seen it have said that they like it.”
Two VIPs, Evelyn Boseley, a pupil at Stickney Primary School, and former Stickney Post Office employee Georgina Bryon cut the ribbon at the official opening ceremony on Friday. Both received flowers for their services.
Linda said: “Georgina worked for me for 16 years and she had worked for the previous people for six or seven years.”
There has been a Post Office on the site since the early 1900s.
The Post Office counter is currently run by Alan Harrison.
