Two slimmers who shed eight-and-a-half stone between them are using their weight loss success as the inspiration for a new career challenge.
Chloe Gilbert, 23, of Boston, and Lindsey Wilder, 37, of Old Leake, have both trained as Slimming World consultants after enjoying a successful spell with the organisation.
In the next few weeks, Chloe, a photographer, will relaunch a Slimming World group in Boston, while Lindsey, a part-time health care support worker at Boston’s Pilgrim Hospital, will start running another group in Old Leake. They will both be fitting in their work around their new roles.
Sarah Lote, a consultant and team developer for Slimming World, recruited Chloe and Lindsey. She said their new roles have never been more important.
“Obesity is becoming such a huge issue across the UK,” she said.
“I am very excited about the support that they’ll bring to help the people of Boston lose weight and get healthy,” she added.
With the help of Slimming World, Chloe shed almost seven stone in a year.
“I was so unhappy and my self-esteem was at rock bottom,” she said. “I decided I had to take action about my weight.”
On why she became a member of Slimming World, Lindsey said: “I was starting to feel very unhappy and unfit.”
She said her clothes were getting tighter and her cholesterol dangerously high.
“I decided to take action,” she said. “I was worried about my health.”
Chloe will be relaunching the Rochford Tower Group, which meets at Rochford Tower Hall, in Rochford Tower Lane, on Monday, September 12, with sessions at 5pm and 7pm.
Lindsey will be welcoming members to her new group at Old Leake Community Centre from Thursday, September 15, at 7.30pm.
