Kind-hearted staff at a recruitment firm in Boston have donated clothes, bedding, and toys to a charity that provides support to homeless and vulnerable people and their families in the town.
Local Link Recruitment, in Wide Bargate, made the donation to Centrepoint Outreach following a collection at their workplace.
Chief executive officer for the charity Liz Hopkins said: “We’re so grateful to everyone at Local Link Recruitment who has made a donation. These items will be passed on to our clients where possible or sold in the charity shop to raise much-needed funds.
“The number of homeless people in Boston and the surrounding area remains high and we rely heavily on the generosity of members of the public and business in the community.
“We have a drop-in centre where we provide tea, coffee and cake or a more substantial snack such as soup or pasta. We also offer one-to-one support for clients who need it and rough sleepers can also book a shower here. However, all of this costs money and we need to raise around £100,000 every year to keep the centre going.”
Local Link Recruitment’s managing director Iwona Lebiedowicz said she is pleased to be able to support the work of the charity, adding: “This is the second collection we’ve had for the charity and we would like to thank all at Local Link, who very kindly brought in hundreds of items once again we were overwhelmed by the response and our people’s generosity.”
