Team’s abseil off cathedral raises £1,500

A fearless foursome from the Boston office of chartered accountants Duncan & Toplis have helped to raise more than £1,500 for Peterborough Cathedral by abseiling down the building.

The group were part of a team of 13 from the firm to take on the 150ft descent in support of the cathedral’s Peterborough 900 Campaign, a fundraising drive set up to coincide with the building’s 900th anniversary in 2018.

Daniel Sharpe, Katy Priestley, Adam Lyon, Daniel Coleman have seen pledges on the event’s Virgin Money Giving page reach £1,540.

Tom Hindmarch, director at Duncan & Toplis in Stamford, said: “This was a great event and it was inspiring to see such a tremendous team effort being made across the company.

“It is a spectacular building and we were pleased to be able to get involved in contributing towards sustaining its future.”

Also joining in with the fun was a colleague from Duncan & Toplis’ sister company Datcom.
