Celebratory Bowie gig raises money for North Lincolnshire hospice
Steve Askew from The Mouth Magazine raised £165 from the music gig at Café Indiependent in aid of Lindsey Lodge Hospice on Burringham Road.
“It was a fantastic Bowie themed evening covering over 50 years of his top-notch tunes,” said Steve, currently based in Scunthorpe.

“I felt that because cancer has touched all of our lives in some way, including Bowie passing away from it recently, it would be fitting to raise money for a charity which does such a great job in caring for people with cancer and life-limiting illnesses.
“A very good friend of mine died many years ago of Hodgkin lymphoma and our biggest bonding point was Bowie. On the evening of the gig some friends we both used to hang around with turned up and we reminisced about the old days and, of course, our love of David Bowie. It was very moving.”
