Welsh singing star Cerys Matthews is coming to Blackfriars Theatre in Boston for a festive performance of carols, stories and sing-along classics.
The former Catatonia performer will be appearing at the Spain Lane venue on December 3 as paart of her ‘Hook, line and Carol Singing’ tour.
The concert will include stories, chat and a whole host of great sing-along classics from the 14th Century to today.
This tour bookmarks an incredible year for Cerys.
She won gold at the Sony Radio Academy Awards for her Sunday morning show on BBC 6 Music which she hosts.
Her sing-along book ‘Hook, Line and Singer’ also became a Sunday Times bestseller and she debuted at the BBC Proms event in August.
The 44-year-old shot to fame as a founding member of the group Catatonia, with the group having top 10 hits in 1998 with Mulder and Scully and Road Rage which she co-wrote.
She performed with Space on UK number four hit The Ballad of Tom Jones before having a solo hit with the man himself – getting a top 20 hit with ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside’.
These days, as well as her BBC 6 Music show she regualrly contributes to BBC Radio 2 and 4 on the airwaves, as well as TV shows The One Show and The Culture Show.
