A NUMBER of people and a dog plodded, strode and limped across the Humber Bridge and back in aid of charity on Saturday.

A total of 15 people from Holy Trinity Church, in Boston, including an 80-year-old set out on the 4,580ft walk under the guidance of the Rev Brian Newton to boost their 2011 Christian Aid Week total.

They are hoping to raise £2,000 in sponsorship.

Mr Newton said: “Last year Christian Aid received £7,600 – a record – as a result of the efforts of Boston people.”

He said he was hoping to equal that total this year.
