Church to light up blue and yellow for World Down's Syndrome Day

Following the success of the light-up last year, the church has agreed to hold the lighting from March 20-26. World Down’s Syndrome Day is on Tuesday, March 21.

Since successfully asking the church to light up for a weekend for World Down’s Syndrome Awareness day last year, Charlotte Clarkson, and daughter Isabella who has the condition, have been doing a lot to raise awareness of Down’s Syndrome – including setting up a local support group.

The Boston Down’s Syndrome Family Group will also be holding a tea party at St Botolph’s Church on Saturday, March 25.

Charlotte told The Standard: “This is going be a really special time for us to be able to celebrate as a group and raise some positive awareness.

“The theme for World Down’s Syndrome Day this year is ‘my voice, my community’ and The Stump will display some photos from the Lincolnshire Down’s Syndrome Support Group calendar with a small quote.

“At this time of year families focus on the joy, love and diversity each person with Down’s Syndrome brings to our lives.”
