Planning applications for more than 400 homes on two sites either side of Toot Lane, in Fishtoft, will be looked at by councillors today.
The borough council’s planning committee will examine the plans by two separate developers which look to build 419 homes in total.
Both of the plans also include space for a nursery/children’s centre to enable Hawthorn Tree Childrens Centre to expand and take on more youngsters.
An additional introductory report to councillors outlines how if one application goes through the new centre will be built there.
However, if both go through the centre will most likely be built on the application to the east of Toot Lane, while the developer to the west has agreed to pay up to £100,000 financial contribution towards the new facility.
Councillors have been recommended to allow officers to work on and approve the plans.
