Community pool is back in business
A new committee has been formed after concerns the pool may close due to increasing costs and an official re-opening event was held on Saturday - despite the heavy rain.
Pool co-ordinator Laura Coggins said: “We had a really good day, despite the weather. It was a lovely atmosphere in the afternoon as it got busier and we had lots of stalls and food.”

She said: “The support from the community has been lovely. Children said they loved swimming in the rain.”
She thanked the support of all the volunteers and committee members which has helped raise the profile of the pool to keep it going. It will open after school for children in the evenings and will be open daily for the summer holidays from July 25.
