A Former Boston Borough councillor died on Saturday after suffering a heart attack.
Richard Dungworth, was on Boston Borough Council as a member of the Boston Bypass Indpendents from 2007-11.
Former leader of the party Richard Austin said: “Richard contributed not only a lot to life but also a lot to Boston.
“He did a brilliant job when he was in the borough as an elected member.”
It is understood Mr Dungworth was returning by train from watching a rugby match when he was taken ill.
He was elected to the Kirton ward and served as a cabinet member with responsibility for leisure.He spent time as chairman of the planning committee.
He leaves his wife Lyn, and daughters Katy and Sophie.
