THE body of a 38-year-old man discovered in a Boston alleyway belonged to a homeless foreign national, police have confirmed.
The man is yet to be named and it is understood his next of kin are yet to be told of his death.
The body was discovered in the alleyway adjacent to the Minicipal Buildings on West Street at approximately 5.50pm yesterday evening.
Officers tried to resuscitate the man but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the man was seen swaying from side to side as he walked towards the alleyway.
They added he had a head injury, but said they do not believe there were any suspicious circumstances.
Insp Rod Brant said: “At the moment we do not think it is anything suspicious but until we have the results of a post mortem examination we cannot be sure.”
Police are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the man prior to his death.
The man was last seen walking along Fydell Crescent at around 5.30pm, spotted by CCTV cameras.
