In addition, Rasen-based PCSO Neil Harrison has reported an increase in thefts from sheds and outbuildings in the area, advising people to step up any security measures.

Writing on Lincs Alert, PCSO Harrison said: “We have experienced a recent increase in the incidents involving thefts from sheds and outbuildings and attempted thefts from this type of storage area.

“Please take the earliest opportunity to assess the security of your outbuilding and if possible consider fitting such items as a shed bar.”

Hwoever, police have stressed that while there had been a spate of shed thefts, there are less offences for similar incidents 12 months ago.

“With the darker evenings, we often provide security advice for sheds and other outbuildings.

“We have seen fewer offences of this type of theft than this time last year. “

The spokesman went on to confirm that the overall figure for crimes reported in Rasen had declined and said that was through ‘targeted patrols and good community relations.’
