A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods after St Botolph’s Church’s missing floodlights were found at his property in Boston.
A police spokesman confirmed the three LED floodlights and a control box were found at a Duke Street address yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).
The man has been released on police bail until October 5 while enquiries are ongoing.
The Parish of Boston has said it ‘is very pleased’ that the equipment, which were stolen over the August Bank Holiday weekend, has been found by the police.
The Rev Alyson Buxton said: “I am so grateful to police for the their investigation into this event and its successful outcome.
“We have also been overwhelmed by the support of the parish and wider community as we have moved forward from this theft.
“We are not sure yet if the same lights can be reinstated but we continue to plan for the Boston Big Light Up at 6pm on Sunday, November 1, 2015.’”
