Man rescued from waterway

A man has had to be pulled out of the Maud Foster Drain after jumping in this afternoon (Monday).

A police spokesman confirmed emergency services were called to the scene opposite the fish and chip shop on Horncastle Road at about 1.50pm after concerns were raised for the man.

They said the man was rescued from the river and taken to Pilgrim Hospital.
