Man stole a body warmer from charity shop while drunk

A MAN who walked into a charity shop in the middle of the day and stole a body warmer was drunk when he took the item, a court has been told.

Darius Wielgus, formerly of London Road, Kirton, saw the item through the window of the Britih Heart Foundation shop in Boston Market Place, went in, put it on and walked out – all in full view of a Town Ranger, Boston magistrates heard.

Mark Hudson, prosecuting, said the 42-year-old Wieglus, who now lives in Fishtoft, but could not remember the address, had been drunk at the time of the incident.

He added: “He said he felt ashamed for what he had done.”

On Wednesday, he was fined £100 for the theft and told to pay £85 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
