Boston’s new community policing inspector is promising a ‘highly visible, effective service’ for the town.

Inspector Jim Manning officially takes over today following Inspector Dave Rimmer’s move to CID in Spalding after having spent the last year in a response role at Boston as an acting inspector.

Inspector Manning comes from a detective background, having spent a number of years as a detective constable in Skegness CID, before being promoted to the rank of sergeant four years ago.

Inspector Manning said: “Having come from a CID background, I’m acutely aware of the impact that burglaries and violent crime have on victims and the community so I am committed to seeing a reduction in these offences.

“However, I am also very focussed on other issues that negatively affect our communities, such as anti-social behaviour, and I’m keen to ensure that police in Boston provide a highly visible, effective service to our local residents.

“We are lucky to have the support of some excellent partner agencies in the borough and I’m looking forward to working alongside them to ensure Boston remains a safe place to live, work and visit.”
