Firearms response units were called to the Broadfield Street area of Boston last night (Tuesday) after a member of the public reported someone with a weapon.

A police spokesman said members of the emergency service were called at about 9pm, and when they arrived stopped a vehicle in which they recovered a BB gun.

Two men were arrested and are currently in custody awaiting interpreters.

One of the men is 31. The age of the other is at this stage unconfirmed.

In response to comments on the number of vehicles attending, the spokesman said this was normal for a ‘routine firearms response’.
