Police name driver killed in Mother’s Day crash

POLICE have named the man who died in a Mother’s Day collision on the A52 on Swineshead.

Frederick Stone, of Bourne Road in Pode Hole, near Spalding, died at the scene of the accident, on Sunday, after the Kia Picanto his was driving collided with a Mitsubishi L200 at about 4.30pm.

He was 81.

His 77-year-old wife remains in a critical, but stable, condition in Pilgrim Hospital.

The occupants of the Mitsubishi suffered no serious injuries.
