POLICE executed a search warrant and found the now outlawed drug mephedrone which belonged to David Karl Fairhurst, a court has been told.
Boston magistrates heard on Wednesday that Fairhurst’s girlfriend was initially arrested and she said the drugs were nothing to do with her. Fairhurst was later arrested and charged with possession.
Rebecca Ritson, prosecuting, said: “The defendant admitted in interview that the five or six grammes of mephedrone was for his own personal use.”
Fairhurst, 37, of Church Road, Boston, admitted possession of a class B drug on March 29 at Freiston Road.
Philippa Chatterton, representing, said Fairhurst had no addiction to the drug and used it to ‘chill out’ but he would just find other ways of relaxing in his leisure time.
Magistrates fined him £65 and ordered him to pay £20 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
