Police have hailed a successful investigation that helped put a Boston paedophile behind bars for two years.

Robert Orton, 45., of Middlecott Close, Boston, admitted 12 charges of making and possessing indecent images of children on Friday. He also admitted two charges of breaching a sexual offences prevention order.

Following the hearing Detective Inspector Simon Lovett, who leads the Lincolnshire Police Internet Child abuse Team (ICAT), said: “I congratulate Detective Constable Alan Wilson on the success of this investigation.

“It shows that we will pursue and prosecute offenders who access indecent images of children. The activity is abhorrent. Each picture effectively shows a crime scene. We are determined to protect and rescue children in such situations by all possible means.”
