Report of rape in Boston on Sunday was ‘consensual sex’

Reports of a rape taking place near Tates Fish and Chip shop, in Boston, in the early hours of Sunday morning turned out to be consensual sex when officers arrived to investigate.

CCTV operatives and Street Wardens reported concerns about an 18-year-old female who may have been the victim of an assault on New Street, shortly before 3am.

However, a force spokesman said that, after being taken to a place of safety by officers and spoken to, the female said that no offences had taken place and she had engaged in consensual sex.

It is believed the public sex act involved the female and two males.
