A new ‘shopwatch’ scheme is to be rolled out across the town, in an attempt to tackle issues with shoplifters and in-store crime.
Boston’s Business Improvement District (BID) is working with shops to promote the initiative, which is currently being set up in 20 shops in the area.
It comes following a similar scheme several years ago, which included 57 shops in the town.
Dwindling attendance at meetings forced that one to close down.
However, BID manager Niall Armstrong said work was underway to make sure this version was made more ‘fit for purpose’ before it is rolled out to other shops.
