Boston Town FC is counting the cost of damage caused by a break-in at their premises last night.

At 8.30am this morning, staff discovered burglars had smashed their way into the tea bar, stealing bottles of alcohol.

The incident is believed to have taken place at the Tattershall Road site some time over night to early this morning.

Club chairman Mick Vines said: “They have smashed their way in using crowbars to break the wooden frames around the front of the tea bar.

“They’ve also smashed open one of our pool tables, which has been destroyed.

“The damage they have caused getting in is devastating. They’ve cracked open the frames and we’ve not got to get the joiners out again to fix the woodwork.”

It is the third break-in to happen at the premises in about a month.

Anyone with information about the offence is asked to call Boston Police by dialling 101 and quoting incident number 75 of March 2 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
