Two men charged with GBH with intent after suspected stabbing in Gainsborough on New Year's Day

Lincolnshire Police were called to a property in Northolme View at 1.30pm on Friday, January 1, where they found the 34-year-old victim.
He was rushed to hospital in Hull for urgent treatment. His injuries were said to be consistent with a stabbing, and serious but not life threatening.

Hide AdA swift police investigation brought charges by Monday, January 4, when a spokesperson for the force said: “A man aged 32 and a man aged 35 have been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and were remanded to Lincoln Magistrates Court today.
“A 19-year-old man and a 34-year-old man has been released on bail pending further investigations. A 50-year-old woman has been released under investigation.”
At the time of writing, police had named neither the victim nor suspects. Officers say they are not appealing for any further witnesses to the incident.
Grievous bodily harm is considered the most serious form of assault in English law and, if judged to have been committed with intent to cause serious injury or wounding, carries a potential life prison sentence.
