A fire which started in a dishwasher was stopped before it could take hold and do further damage at a property in a sleaford area village last night (Tuesday).

The incident was reported at 10.37pm when the appliance caught fire in a kitchen on High Street, Osbournby,

A fire crew from Billingborough attended but the fire was out on arrival.

According to Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service, the fire started in the control panel of the dishwasher causing damage to it, but this tripped the mains electrics and it burnt itself out.
