Don't forget your medications this Easter bank holiday

By not ordering repeat prescription this can make it more difficult for patients to get the medication they need over the Easter Bank Holiday break.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) is urging the public to please ensure you have enough medication to cover the Easter break and also reminding patient’s what services will be open.

Dr Phil Mitchell, Medical Director at Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust, said: “If you take repeat medication you should request your repeat prescriptions in good time to ensure you have adequate supplies for the Easter Bank Holiday period.

“Your GP surgery will be closed on Bank Holidays and not all pharmacies will be fully open either, so it’s important you pick up repeat prescriptions in advance. Most practices need at least 48 hours to process a repeat prescription request.

If you fall ill over the Bank Holidays you don’t have to rush to A&E. For those on the East Coast, don’t forget the urgent care centres at Skegness Hospital on Dorothy Avenue and County Hospital, Louth. These services are open 24 hours a day, providing urgent assessment, diagnosis and treatment, provided by teams of emergency nurse practitioners and an associate specialist doctor during the day, and a GP at night at Louth.

If the service cannot treat you safely, you may be referred or transferred elsewhere as necessary.
