Giles Academy pupils have been congratulated by school leaders after gaining ‘excellent’ A-level results.
Deputy headteacher Ian Widdows said the pupils’ success had been ‘achieved by hard work and commitment’ from all the staff and students and said all the staff and governors congratulated the pupils.
He said: “These results are extremely significant for our students. For very many they will be the springboard to higher education. Many will be preparing to go to University to study a wide variety of courses, from Physics and Engineering to Fine Art and Graphics. In addition, we have seven students who will be continuing their study of performing arts by taking up places at stage school in September. For others the results signify the gateway to employment or apprenticeships.
“We wish them all of the very best for the future.”
Some of the inspiring performances came from Jason Elliott, head girl Gabriele Petraskaite, Claudia Faratro and Jade Simpson who all gained A grades in every one of their qualifications and head boy Jason Elliott gained the school’s best results, with As and A*s in all of his five-and-a-half A-Level qualifications.
