The executive head of Boston Witham Academies Federation Adrien Reed has been revealed to be one of the highest paid individuals in the schools sector in 2013-14.

The news comes from an investigation of thousands of Freedom of Information requests examined by the Taxpayers’ Alliance and the Daily Mail – when both investigated some of the richest people in the public sectors.

Mr Reed, who oversees Haven High Technology College, Staniland Academy and Carlton Road Academy in Boston and Wygate Park Academy in Spalding, was said to have received £231,674 under the Multi-Academy Trusts section of the report.

Director and chairman of finance at the Witham Schools Federation Tony Elmer told The Standard: “The performance and remuneration of the CEO is reviewed annually by a committee of Directors of the Trust.

“The committee take independent advice from an education specialist on the performance of the CEO before making any pay recommendations. The £231,674 quoted includes gross salary and required associated pension contributions, the rate which is set by the Teachers’ Pension Scheme.”
