GCSE students at Boston College have been congratulated for their achievements following today’s (Thursday, August 21’s) results.

The college has made special mention of Arturs Vasijevs who achieved an A in maths and a C in English.

Arturs needed the grades to secure his place at Birmingham University to study European politics, society and economics.

Having already picked up his A-level results all was riding on him picking up the much-needed C grades.

Arturs said: “I was a bit unsure whether I would achieve the grade right up to today, but I’m really happy and can’t wait to start university in September.”

Another happy student was Amandra Loveridge, who will be going on to continue her studies at Boston College on the access to nursing course after achieving a C in Maths.

Amanda who is working toward a career in general adult nursing said: “I’m very happy with my results, I didn’t think I’d achieve the grade.”

A spokesman for the college said: “Well done to everyone who picked their results up, a great achievement all around!”
