GCSE: Giles Academy pupils ‘set new high’

The head teacher of Giles Academy has said the school has been ‘pleased’ to report their best overall exam results.

Students in 2013 have set a new high for the school, with 95 per cent getting 5 A*-C.

Head teacher Chris Walls said the new English Baccalaureate, introduced in 2012, showed a big increase in 2013 with the number of students gaining A*-C in English, Maths, History, Science, and MFL rising to 8 per cent.

He said: “Giles are pleased to report their best overall exam results.

The best individual performances for the school came from Danielle Tooley with seven A*s and 4 As and Luke Trodd with 5 A*s, 5 As and a B.

Mr Walls added: “Well done in this record year.”
