School gets a silver award for its sport

Hawthorn Tree Primary School in Boston has been awarded the Sainsbury School Games Silver Award for its work in PE and sport during 2014/15.

It had achieved a bronze award the previous year.

The award, monitored by the Youth Sport Trust, assesses PE provision in a variety of ways.

Performance is measured through the curriculum time given to PE, the range of extra-curricular activities offered and the number of pupils attending, the amount of competitive sport played, pupils’ involvement in running competitions, the school’s club links and staff development.
