Thomas Cowley High School officially opened a new £35,000 state-of-the-art maths classroom last week.

The ribbon-cutting honours were given to the Donington school’s new chair of governors, Simon Lilley.

Headteacher Martyn Taylor said: “Our own master builder Dave Cox has done a terrific job in creating this new classroom. He has done it in such a way as it blends in to its surroundings whilst at the same time enhancing them. We have the largest school population in the long and distinguished history of the school and it is good to be able to give them more teaching space.” He added: “I am looking forward to working with Mr Lilley and am confident he will help us to move the school forward’.
