‘Emergency repairs’ to take place on A52 over the weekend

Two busy Boston roads are set to be partially closed weekend while ‘emergency repairs’ are made by Anglian Water.

The A52 Liquorpond Street and Queen Street will be closed for eastbound traffic from 6pm, on Saturday, until 6am on Monday, so that Anglian Water can carry out emergency repairs to a leaking water main.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire County Council’s highways department also added that alongside the emergency repairs the company ‘will also be carrying out manhole cover repairs and sewer maintenance within the length of the closure’.

Lincolnshire County Council will also be undertaking Highway maintenance works including renewing road markings and drainage maintenance.

The closures mean Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane throughout the works.

Diversions will be in place for eastbound A52 traffic via Lister Way, Fydell Street, Norfolk Street, Horncastle Road and John Adams Way.

Access to West Street and to Queen Street businesses will be maintained in an easterly direction beyond Lister Way as normal.
