Bungled bin tags cause confusion

A BUNGLED effort by Boston Borough Council to alter the collection days for bins around the borough has left many residents confused about when to leave their rubbish out.

Tags were placed on many bins stating which day collection would be moved to a few weeks ago.

However, it transpired that residents on Boston’s London Road had actually been misinformed, and the true information could only be found out by looking on the council’s website, despite the fact the tags had been used to reach those who do not have internet access.

George Bernard, head of operations, apologised for the mistake, adding: “Some advisory tags were wrongly labelled. On Thursday we leaflet dropped correct information through letterboxes of the residents who had been given incorrect information, with an apology letter.”
