Sponsors of Witham Way Country Park have been thanked by those who help manage the public space.
The Friends of Witham Way Country Park held their annual meeting recently to thank those who support the work they do.
Chairman Pete Desforges said: “If it wasn’t for them the park wouldn’t be as it is.
“Their help enables the volunteers to work efficiently.”
The Friends volunteer for free, but would not be able to accomplish lots of what they do without the sponsors who provide cash to help pay for equipment and supplies.
Sponsor Alistair Mitchell said: “We all appreciate the work the volunteers do and we also appreciate the wonderful facility we have here, on our doorsteps.”
Fellow sponsor Pat Barthorpe added: “We count ourselves lucky to have such a place as this. It’s so close to town and yet you walk in here and you could be in countryside miles away.”
