Enjoy the stars among nature at RSPB event

Families can gaze up at a sea of stars surrounded by nature at a special night time event at RSPB Frampton Marsh on Saturday.

The nature reserve is offering families the chance to pitch a tent at 7pm and spend the night there, with a ‘twilight toddle’ with a guide one of the events put on.

Jeff Powell from the South Lincs Astronomy Group will be there to point out the night sky, while visitors can toast marshmallows for a bedtime snack and there is chance to use high-tech equipment to eavesdrop on bats.

Families can then wake the next day to see what moths have visited overnight in a trap.

The event costs £15 per adult, £7.50 per child (RSPB members 20 per cent off).

Chris Andrews, visitor services officer for the reserve, said; “Camping out is a great way to really experience the Lincolnshire countryside. With a sea of stars overhead and bird calls echoing through the night sky, it really puts you at one with nature.”
