Flood victims urged not to miss out on help

Boston’s flood victims are being reminded they may qualify for a grant of up to £5,000 to help make their properties more resistant to future flooding- without having to put any cash up front.

Only properties which have already been registered with the council as having been flooded on December 5 qualify for the grants. All of these should by now have received a letter and application form from the council.

A spokesman said: “The most hassle-free method is to opt for the council to arrange a survey of the property to assess what flood-resistance work can be done and for the council to arrange for the work to be carried out, avoiding the need for householders to gain three quotations.”

The cost of the survey will be deducted from their grant, whichever option they choose.
