Football match raises £900 in honour of James

A CHARITY football match held in honour of a Sutterton teenager who died in 2008 has raised £904 for charity.

The James Hackett Memorial Cup Match, held at Sutterton Fourfield School playing field, raised the money for Brake, a charity which supports families affected by collisions on the road.

James’ mother Anna said: “We had a good day. Thanks to everybody who took part and contributed.”

James Hackett, a Boston College student, lost his life on May 11, 2008, on the A16. He was 18.

Following his death his friends organised a football match in tribute to him and as a fundraiser for Brake.

It has since become an annual event.
