Boston’s Geoff Moulder Leisure Centre, is looking for swimmers to take part in an annual even t which is classed as the world’s biggest fundraising swim.
The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Swimathon will take place at the complex on Sunday, March 20, and is part of an annual fundraising effort which has helped raise more than £42 million since 1986
Geoff Moulder pool representative Scott Higgins said: “The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Swimathon is a fantastic way to bring our community together, while providing ample opportunity to get fit and healthy in the pool.
“Boston residents can take the plunge themselves, along with family and friends, to complete a swimming challenge of their choice while raising funds for those in need.”
This year money raised from the event will go to helping Sport Relief.
Half of all the money the public raises is spent by Comic Relief in the UK, with the other half used in the world’s poorest communities.
Swimathon will take place in more than 600 pools across the UK.
Swimmers are encouraged to take on a Swimathon challenge as a team or as an individual.
Participants can choose from 1.5k, 2.5k or 5k individual distances.
For those who prefer a team challenge, they can also form a relay squad to tackle the 1.5k and 5k distances.
